The Hughson Unified School District Bond Oversight Committee represents the community and has the responsibility of ensuring that the allocations of funds provided by the passage of Measure G are expended as outlined in the measure. The $14.3 million dollar bond was issued to upgrade and renovate outdated restrooms, plumbing and sewer systems and repair and replace roofs; make necessary health and safety improvements such as upgrading fire alarm and communication systems, improve student access to computers and modern technology throughout the District by upgrading electrical systems, and make ADA (handicapped accessibility) improvements; construct new science and technology labs at the high school; build new library/media center/classrooms at Ross; build/renovate library/media center/multi purpose room at Hughson Elementary School; and build a new ag center and new athletic fields at Hughson High School. The District received $6,596,676.40 from the sale of Series A Bond in December 2004 and $4,442,246.25 from Series B Bond in August 2006. The District has also received $5,733,127 from the State Facility Program for modernization for Hughson Elementary, Ross Middle School and Hughson High School. |
